Armstrong & Richardson was founded in 1934 by the late Omar Armstrong and Clarence Richardson. Both had extensive experience in fitting corrective footwear, and they established their business with principles and ethical standards that built trust and confidence with the clientele they served.
While the business has evolved over the years, Armstrong & Richardson has retained its emphasis on combining high quality merchandise and professional service with fitting expertise.
This commitment to service has been maintained by three generations of Armstrongs. First by Omar, then by his son Blair, who joined him in 1956, and then by Omar’s grandson Eric, the current President, and granddaughter Deanna Armstrong, the current Vice-President.
“We are proud to have received the Consumers Choice Gold award for the Best Shoe Stores in Ottawa from 1998-2004,” says Eric. This is the seventh year in a row that Armstrong & Richardson has received this award.
Armstrong & Richardson continues to provide the best selection of men’s and women’s footwear in the region. The merchandise mix offers casual, walking, business, dress and formal shoes as well as sandals, winter boots, slippers, handbags and accessories from Canada and around the world. Brand names include: Rockport, Clarks , Easy Spirit, Romika, S.A.S. Amalfi, Roberto Cappucci, Mr. Seymour, Josef Seibel, Mephisto, Bostonian and Florsheim.
